U.S. Term Limits announced today that Terrell A. Williams has agreed to serve as Delaware State Co-Chair for the organization, which advocates for term limits on members of Congress. Williams, a federal civil service professional, civil rights advocate, legal scholar, educator, and military veteran, will help lead efforts to enact term limits and restore accountability in Washington, D.C.
"I am honored to serve as Delaware State Co-Chair for U.S. Term Limits and help advance this important effort," Williams said. "Americans across the political spectrum are frustrated with career politicians and the dysfunction that has become normalized in Washington. Congressional term limits are a common-sense reform that can help restore trust, accountability, and citizen leadership in government."
Williams emphasized that the Constitution provides states with a pathway to act on term limits, and Delaware has an opportunity to lead the nation toward meaningful change. He stressed that citizens deserve fresh perspectives and responsive leadership from representatives who remain connected to the people they serve.
Williams serves with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, where he enforces federal laws and constitutional safeguards. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln University and Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law. A Delaware resident for more than a decade, he holds a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, a Master's in Public Administration, and a Bachelor's in Social Relations from Cheyney University. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and Pennsylvania National Guard.
Philip Blumel, President of U.S. Term Limits, said, "We are honored to have Terrell Williams helping lead our efforts in Delaware. His background in public service, civil rights, education, and constitutional law make him an outstanding advocate for congressional term limits."
U.S. Term Limits is the largest grassroots term limits advocacy group in the country. The organization connects supporters with legislators and works to pass term limits at all levels of government, particularly for Congress. More information is available at termlimits.org.
